Required bioscans

How to unlock

Scan both Electric Geordie and Sandspear with the Bio Scanner.

Bio Scanner required

Most BioMods require the Bio Scanner attachment (green glow while aiming). Parts are found in the late-game zone; craft at a Modification Station. Standard Scanner scans do not unlock BioMods—you must re-scan donors with the Bio Scanner.

Where to scan

Electric Geordie: deep late-game waters beyond Alien Ruins. Sandspear: sandy starter zones—ambushes fish and lunges at you when approached.

In-game effect

Your hands and body glow in the dark. Creature reactions vary—some flee, others may be drawn to the light.

Tips

Utility is situational; many players rarely rely on it in current Early Access content.

Other biomods from the same scan

Bioscans and biomods are easier to plan when you can compare scan targets, genome costs, and the creatures behind each unlock.

Use creatures for habitat and threat context, the Crafting Planner for material needs around the Biolab, and the interactive map to plan scan routes before spending genomes.
